Biography

James E. (“Jim”) Skeen practices in the areas of taxation, estate planning and administration, and business law. Mr. Skeen received his B.A. in Accounting magna cum laude from Brigham Young University in 1975. He graduated cum laude from Brigham Young University Law School in 1978. He also completed a Masters of Accountancy from BYU and sat for and passed the CPA exam while attending law school. He served as the Executive Editor of the Brigham Young University Law Review. During his undergraduate work at Brigham Young, Mr. Skeen interrupted his undergraduate studies to serve a two year church service mission to France. He is fluent in French and retains a love for the culture, people and beauties of France.

In addition to his law practice, Mr. Skeen has served on boards and projects with local civic organizations. He also serves as Secretary to the Board of Trustees and as counsel for Southern Virginia University. He is active in his church and has served in various leadership capacities in the Charlottesville and central Virginia areas.

Jim enjoys spending time with family and traveling with his wife of more than 40 years.
